Local Fishing Guide

💡

Insider Tip

The 'pocket' between L Street and 10th Ave jetties holds fish when everywhere else is dead. Cast parallel to the beach in the wash.

Hot Spots

  • •L Street Jetty tip - deep water drops off fast, holds bass year-round
  • •10th Ave Jetty pocket - protected water on south side for tog
  • •The Shark River side - calmer water, excellent fluke drifting

Proven Tactics

  • •Plug the jetty rocks at night with black or purple swimmers
  • •Bounce bucktails along the rocks for tog - green crabs are deadly
  • •Chunk bunker in the suds between jetties during blitzes

Seasonal Patterns

Spring

Tog bite picks up mid-April. Green crabs on bottom rigs.

Summer

Blues crash bait early morning. Kingfish in the suds all day.

Fall

Night plugging peaks Oct-Nov. Walk the jetty at 2am for cows.

Winter

Hardcore tog fishing only. Dress in layers, fish the slack.

⚠️Know Before You Go

  • •Slippery rocks - wear korkers
  • •Waves break over jetty in rough conditions
  • •Strong sweep current
