Local Fishing Guide

💡

Insider Tip

The 2-3am window in October is magic. Bass feed when boat traffic stops. Park at the lighthouse and walk out with a headlamp.

Hot Spots

  • •The Pocket - inside corner of north jetty, protected from NE winds
  • •Mid-jetty rocks - tog heaven, especially the submerged boulders
  • •The Tip - where bay drains meet ocean, prime striper ambush point

Proven Tactics

  • •Eeling at night is religion here - use 8-12 inch eels, slow retrieve
  • •Tog: drop green crabs tight to rocks on slack, let them find it
  • •When bass are busting, anything that swims will get hit

Seasonal Patterns

Spring

Tog season opens. Work the pocket on calm days.

Summer

Fluke in the channel, weakfish after dark in the pocket.

Fall

Legendary bass fishing. Eeling after midnight produces trophies.

Winter

Tog only, but world-class. Green crabs, fish the slack.

⚠️Know Before You Go

  • •Massive waves break on jetty in storms
  • •Current can sweep you off rocks
  • •Ice forms on rocks in winter
